2024-2025 Intramural Sport Supervisor Application

Description

The Sport Supervisor is a leader within the Intramural Sports Program who shows a high level of commitment to its success. A Sport Supervisor has the authority to make decisions regarding all Intramural Sports Programs with a focus on the evaluation of officials and the overall experience for employees, participants, and spectators who may be involved in activities with Campus Recreation.

Selection Criteria

(1) Interested persons shall complete and submit an application during the hiring period typically near the end of the semester; selected applicants shall participate in and interview process 

(2) Prior experience in the Intramural Program as a game official for 2 sports during the 2023-2024 academic year is required

(3) Superior organization and communication skills are recommended

(4) Final hiring decisions will be made by the Intramural Sports Professional Staff

Primary Responsibilities 

  • Maintaining the highest level of integrity for yourself and the department at all times
  • Actively seeking opportunities to improve yourself and the department
  • Enforcing all policies of the Rec SportsPlex, Tully Gymnasium, Westside Courts and Speicher Tennis Center
  • Assisting Facility Supervisors with opening and closing procedures at the Rec SportsPlex
  • Supervising intramural games, officials, and open recreation
  • Evaluating officials on a nightly basis
  • Being a good steward of customer service
  • Assist in making decisions concerning the safety of participants pertaining to the playing conditions
  • Reporting potential risk management concerns, damages, and other maintenance issues
  • Maintaining clean facilities and empty trash cans
  • Serving as a liaison to the FSU Police and Athletic Trainers on site
  • Communicating any problem participants, facility issues, and other pertinent issues at Competitive Sports Facilities to the supervisory staff
  • Participating in discussion during staff meetings

Qualifications:  

  • Ability to work between 10-15 hours per week
  • Experience in leadership, management, and/or administrative capacities
  • Must hold current CPR/First-Aid certifications (will take class once promoted)
  • Show dedication and commitment to the Intramural Sports Program
